Tik tok Galway

Should my Corporate Business be on TikTok?

In one word – Yes.

TikTok is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms surpassing Facebook and Instagram in downloads at the end of 2021, and that momentum hasn’t slowed in 2022.

Within TikTok’s first year, it reportedly reached 500 million monthly active users ¹. Now, as of January 2022, TikTok has over 1 billion monthly active users and 3 billion installations ². The graph below shows the immense growth from its inception ³.

TikTok takes full advantage of the trend of bite-sized video content that has been dominating marketing strategies in all industries these past few years. Short-form video content, and video content as a whole, isn’t going anywhere. In fact, it’s still rapidly growing.

In Ireland alone, there is an estimated total of 1.6 million – 2 million accounts. Within those accounts, 631,000 – 772,000 people have interacted with business and finance-related content.

The chart below shows the breakdown of the potential reach for each age group in Ireland.

Benefits of Using TikTok

TikTok is a great way to add a potential new sales funnel to your marketing plan.

You can use TikTok to get shown to a new audience as TikTok prioritises content giving anything the opportunity to go ‘viral’, so you don’t have to build up your platform with a massive following before you can reach many new faces in your target audience.

Because TikTok focuses on video, mainly short-form feed posts, you can use it to funnel visitors and followers to another platform. For the moment, you can link your Instagram, Facebook, and website, but you can also direct them to another platform in your videos and captions.

How to use TikTok For B2B Marketing

In terms of content, you have already researched your market and understand the kinds of content that your audience reacts to.

Now, you can take that expertise and condense it into bite-sized tips on TikTok to showcase that expertise in ways that are more easily digestible for your audience.

You can repurpose your best-performing content, no matter the type to TikTok. For example, you could highlight key points from a recent blog, or a sound from a podcast you recorded. The easier route would be to re-use the video content that you have and choose a short clip to post to TikTok.

Make sure to stay on top of TikTok trends, this is easier to do than you think it is. TikTok has created a highly engaging and effective algorithm. By using it for even a few minutes a day, engaging with similar accounts, liking posts, and scrolling through your feed, TikTok will be able to create a curated feed for you and your business/brand.

Now, when you scroll through your feed you’ll be able to see trends, and more importantly, how they are being adapted for other businesses similar to yours.

Here are a few Ideas for TikTok posts to get you started:

  • Product Demo
  • Share an ‘executive interview’ with someone in your company
  • ‘How-to’ videos
  • Answer FAQ’s
  • Customer success stories/testimonials
  • Showcase a relatable pain point and how your product/services fix it

Conclusion

TikTok has been and is predicted to still be, the fastest growing social media platform. When many people think of TikTok that haven’t been on it, they think of dancing, lip-synching, and a younger generation that isn’t their target market.

However, with TikTok’s algorithm prioritising content and showing you a perfectly curated feed, it is easier than ever to get your business in front of the right people that are consuming the kinds of content that you’ll produce.

By repurposing the content and videos that you already have and adapting to relevant trends, you’ll see how easy TikTok can be. More importantly, how beneficial it can be for your business.
